Tim Mason began his ‘Roll Call Tour’ in 2012 and has travelled worldwide throughout the USA, Europe and Asia where he has played at some pretty awesome events, including Creamfields, SW4, Playhouse in LA and EDC in New York and Las Vegas, amongst many other top places.

His success is reining through 2013 where he played at Cream, in Liverpool on March 2nd following on from his legendary performance at Amnesia, Ibiza in August 2012. Tim Mason will also be continuing with the ‘Roll Call Tour’ and set to play in LA, Texas, San Francisco, Orange County, San Diego, Toronto and Miami.

‘Swoon’ which has been aired on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Pete Tong’s Essential Selection’ show and also new kid on the block, ‘Danny Howard’s Dance Anthems’ show amplifies the roaring success of the track and what is to follow for this ever growing DJ and Music Producer.

Features Writer, Larissa Wignall caught up with Tim Mason ahead of his debut at Cream, Liverpool and before he jets off to sunny Miami for the WMC in March.

Larissa: You are signed to Steve Angello’s label, Size Records with tracks such as ‘Anima’, ‘The Moment’ and your recent release ‘Swoon’ which has been played out on Pete Tong and Danny Howards BBC Radio 1 shows. What has been your favourite production to date and where is it that you take your inspiration from for each track?

Tim : There’s something special in all of em to be honest. Whether it’s the breakdown in ‘Anima’ or the drums on ‘The Moment’, it’s hard to say which one is my favourite.

Working on ‘Swoon’ was a lot of fun as well! Inspiration comes from everywhere and sometimes where you least expect it!

You played at Cream at Amnesia, Ibiza last summer and you are soon to be playing at Cream in Liverpool on March 2nd, alongside Nicky Romero, Eddie Halliwell, Third Party and Gareth Wyn. Will you be playing any new music productions of yours and who are you most looking forward to sharing the Main Room with?

Looking forward to sharing it with all of them never played with Nicky Romero before and certainly and always, looking forward to seeing the Third Party boys! Will defo check out Paul van Dyk in the Courtyard as well. And yes I will be playing new productions of mine, as well as a few other surprises I got planned for my first show at Cream.

At the back end of last year and throughout February you have been on your ‘Roll Call Tour’ throughout the USA, Europe and Asia. Can you share with us some highlights from the tour, what locations have you most enjoyed and what nightclubs would most definitely be on your agenda to play at again?

Lemme say one that comes to mind right away, me and Tiesto necking Jager at the after party in Bloomington was one of the funniest moments of my career, the guy can crack jokes, haha!

I’d have to say Miami, NYC, LA and Toronto are amongst my favourite places to play for sure.

The Miami Winter Music Conference will shortly be upon us in March where worldwide artists will congregate to enjoy a jam packed week of events, parties, seminars and workshops. What are your plans for your time at WMC?

There are seminars and workshops? Haha!

I got a rammed schedule over WMC I don’t think we can announce most of them yet. I think I can mention the Size show at Wall and also the Ministry Of Sound Stage at No Sugar Added as for the rest check my Facebook or Twitter anytime soon for a full announcement.

Other than Cream and the WMC what else will you be getting up to this year? Will be making any festival appearances, more music productions and are any collaboration’s on the horizon?

Certainly new productions, there’s a remix I did for Kaskade and Swanky Tunes which is out shortly as well as one for Steve Aoki. There’s also some but can’t reveal much on that yet!

Really excited about the shows and festivals this year, can say that I’ll be playing Creamfields for the 3rd year in a row in August as for the rest of the shows, there’s two huge ones in April I can’t wait to tell everyone about, and all the rest for the summer too, wish I could tell you all of them right now! Ahh cant wait!
